Koç.net MPLS-VPN
Turkey's first CPN (Cisco Powered Network) certified backbone
Koç.net is Turkey's first and the world's fifth service provider to offer "Managed Services" with its MPLS-VPN backbone. In the light of the fact that business applications in particular need to run on a high-security and high-performance platform, Koç.net has begun using the MPLS (Multiple Protocol Label Switching) technology in 1998, and has continuously increased its experience and expertise in this area, and maintained its position as Turkey's largest MPLS-VPN network ever since.
Advantages of Koç.net backbone

Quality of service (QoS) settings made on the backbone can help differentiate, prioritize and allocate a fixed bandwidth for the applications. For example, real-time Voice and Video applications are very sensitive to packet losses and delays. The data transferred may lose meaning and value in such cases. Data flow on Koç.net backbone is managed end-to-end according to such prioritization and classification at every point (at all decision-making points from the origination point to the termination point), which helps achieve the desired performance throughout the backbone.

As this technology is deployed on Koç.net backbone, the customer does not need its equipment to support any encryption mechanism. It helps achieve optimum price/performance ratio with the lowest level hardware configurations, and provide a quality service with a low-level delay time.

Koç.net's MPLS-VPN network ensures a high-quality voice transmission in much lower bandwidth by allowing data compression to 12K in voice communications. It then provides an extra cost-saving feature.

Disasters have today become one of the most critical issues that need to be considered as well. MPLS-VPN technology enables automatic transfer of an MPLS-VPN network management to a secondary location (disaster center) at minimum cost. However, the investment and operation costs required to ensure availability of a virtual network set up with other technologies (FR, IPSec) in the event of a disaster are much higher, and even then it is impossible to achieve the desired performance.
